DocuShelf — document organizer for invoices, receipts and scans
DocuShelf keeps the papers you end up with in a folder — invoices, receipts, statements, scanned letters — and puts them somewhere you can find them again.
Get DocuShelf from the Microsoft StoreHow it files your paperwork
- Point it at the folder where your documents land, and choose where you want them kept.
- Each file is read: the date, the other party and the amount are picked out.
- The file is renamed to something meaningful and moved into a year and month folder
(
2024/03style), so a year of paperwork sorts itself into a structure you can browse in File Explorer. - Everything filed is indexed, so you can search the words inside your documents rather than remembering what you called the file.
- Press Scan now to sort a folder when you want. Pro adds Start watching, which files documents automatically as soon as they arrive.
What it reads
PDFs with a text layer, and PDFs and images that only exist as scans — including JPEG, PNG and TIFF. Text recognition is built in and runs offline, so filing works with no internet connection at all.
Nothing is guessed
If the date cannot be read with confidence, the document is not given an invented name. It is left exactly where it is and shown in a “Needs your review” list. If anything goes wrong while a document is being read, the original is left untouched — DocuShelf never moves a file it could not understand. And Undo last run puts every file from a run back under its original name.
Free and Pro
Free: Scan now whenever you want, up to 20 documents per run, plus filing, the review queue, search and undo. Pro is a single one-off purchase that adds automatic watching and unlimited documents per run. No subscription, no account.
Private by design
Your documents never leave your PC, and no account or sign-in is involved. The index it builds lives in a local database under your own profile. The only network use is the Microsoft Store taking payment for the optional Pro upgrade, which involves no document data.
